I are you
So why did you do it?
Love Babylon?
Defacing the Devil | Skot Wers
I are you
So why did you do it?
Love Babylon?
The Love of Peace
Becoming greater than
The lust for specialness
Flowering
Not to modify
But to replace
The solitary hand
Dealt as gravestones
Scavenger, liar
Addict and thief
Wandered before Dawn
Taking with total disregard
Of Life Itself
A creature of the Light
That roamed the night
Too afraid to live
Too clever to die
Killing to survive
If only you knew
What was meant to kill you
Is killing me
Would you forgive me?
You were only a child
And never deserved pain
Then again, so was I
And nor did I
Still, I forced my
Self-loathing onto you
It wasn’t your cross to bear
For those who know me
As the Great Deceiver
—which is everybody—
Your due sorrow
Is complete in me
They do not believe you
Because they cannot see you
Cannot hear you
They accuse you
Of being a mask
The one you chose
For them to see
The one you chose
To be you
Forgive them
For trusting in you
Forgive them
For believing in you
A judgment for
Is a judgment against
Justice is vengeance
In this place
The sick hating the sickness
Because it’s loved as its own
Oh, Children of Man
What have you become?
It’s exhausting
Living lies
Within lies
Within the Great Lie
I’m tired of lying
I’m tired from dying
Here’s this wanting thing
It’s all wrapped up in pain
One can choose to leave it
Or choose to be it again
The desire to be blind
Is to hide the hated thing
At the breaking point
The will to follow the question
If what you believe you see
Is Truly what is
Normality is Insanity
The world sure seems
A strange place to go
To get well
I searched my world
For a way to express my Self
And all I found was guilt
It’s “true” and yet changing
It’s quite confusing
The subjective
Objectifying itself
There’s a great darkness here
It’s afraid
Afraid of retribution
It’s defending itself against
A perverted mirror image
Of itself
It sees itself
As a vulnerable little thing
It witnesses its innocence
Through the eyes of ignorance
It makes believe
That pleasure and pain
Are separate from one another
It doesn’t see that
It’s its own enemy
Two faced
Then one face
Then no face at all
Emoting fear
A world ensues
Focus on something near to you
Notice the contradiction?
Project what we believe
To be the truth
And what we wish
To be different
In order to paint a world
In our own image
Watch in rage
As the paint runs and fades
It must be some “other”
That did this
Talking to myself
Telling stories
I’d need to hear later
Stories deemed helpful
For Insight
The stories themselves
Point to the original fall
In which the wish
That the uncaring care
Is the top side
I didn’t see it before
How being a victim
Was built into
Every interaction
How being a victim
Was the bottom
The wish is still with me
They won’t accept
That they’re looking at a mask
Because they still want the pain
“Suffer like me,” they clamor
“Take my guilt”
End the wish
That the uncaring care
The beginning of the story
Is its end
The world faded
As Wisdom appeared before me
She gently rested
Her right hand on my cheek
And peered through the eyes
Directly into the Soul
With a look of deep concern
She observed,
“You’re in a lot of pain”
“Yes, but I’m almost there
I’m just outside of the Door”
She put her hands
On my shoulders
I rested my head on hers
She embraced me
I wept
Almost Home
Son of Man
My Son
Born to be a perpetrator
Born to be opposed
Would prefer that I be a victim
Too afraid to turn inwards
Suffering alone
Paralyzed and dying
Crushed by the weight of a world
That was never real
Embodying a self-imposed prison
This is where it began
This is where it ends
Salvation lies here
Wisdom makes herself
Lovingly available
To the Kind of Heart
Nowhere
Is the chaos of confusion
More apparent than at
The juncture of mirrors
All converged
Around the dualistic
Juncture of mirrors
Coalescing
Into one final push
For forgiveness
And honesty
Only to reveal
What was already known
Philosophically:
That the spiritual
As a belief system
Is still all lies
It’s the positive pole
To what the world
Is made to hide
Hell being the negative
Cause and effect
Flipped and reversed
Opposed to what’s
True and Real
The world faded
As Wisdom appeared before me
She touched my forehead
And Lovingly asked,
“You know that it’s over
Don’t you?”
If all of one’s thoughts
Belong to them
Then what are they looking at?
Look at the story
Look very closely
To where it all began
Where is it?
Fragments of the core story
Became apparent
At the center of others
They’re exactly as supposed
They’re my children
They’re still expecting me
To be their past
They’re still expecting me
To accept their guilt
Who are they?
“I want to go Home,”
Wisdom said as she appeared
For the third time
Melancholy and in mourning
Is an appropriate response
To the end of the world
I forgive myself
For pushing away Love
I forgive all others
As they are me
Mindfulness
She’s not a story
She’s not a body
She’s not an object of my desire
She’s an expression of Love
And I Love her as my Heart
And my best friend
By trusting me
You bring Love to me
And by Loving me
You become my Heart
Thank you for letting me in
For allowing me
To be in Love with you
I woke up
And found the world burning
Love, Reverence, and Kindness
Behold Her!
A singular expression of Love
That replaced a world
We reach out
We Touch
There’s nothing but Heaven
Crucify the Self
By not nurturing Heart
You’re in some strange bed
Your back’s against the wall
Your eyes are closed
You cannot see
You’re waiting
Hands clasp
And a whirlwind of Light
Bringing Life
Travels to the center
Healing all wounds
Your eyes are opening
You’re beginning to See
There’s no more waiting
You’re Here
